About the Author
I have spent the majority of my career working to develop new businesses, Alliances and JVs for companies who use emerging technologies to create disruptive products, services and business models. Not all have been successful - Tele-TV comes to mind - but the experiences have been invaluable in broadening my understanding of the inflexion points where technology, creativity and commerce intersect, and where business models are tested, and re-tested, and tested some more.
I formed Chris Carter Consulting not because the name is an catchy alliteration but because I enjoy working with smart people who are pushing the envelope to create change for consumers, businesses and investors. Along the way I learn a lot and meet fascinating people convinced their solutions will solve a problem or, perhaps, make being entertained a little easier for the consumer. Sometimes simple economics gets in the way of great ideas, but eventually time and market demand move an innovation to economic reality. What is the cost of 1GB of flash memory today? $10? It was more than $100 two years ago.
Professionally I have held executive positions in Strategy, Business Development and Finance for companies in the Cable, Interactive Media, Broadcast Services and Consumer Electronics industries, helping to close business transactions valued in excess of $3.0B along the way.
